There are probably many of you out there that were purchasing your Playstation 4 consoles this year with hopes of playing Naughty Dog’s latest opus, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, at some point this year. Well, it seems you will have to wait a bit longer for the game to come out.
Creative Director, Neil Druckmann, took to the PlayStation Blog to talk about the delay of the game until spring of 2016. Now, there was never an official release date for the game but it was believed to be somewhere in 2015. Unfortunately, everyone learned on Wednesday that the game will come out about a year later in 2016.
“This game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for,” says Neil Druckmann, the studio’s creative director. “So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards, but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.”
Let’s keep in mind that Naughty Dog is not one of those companies that holds back games for the sake of holding back. Also, we very seldom ever heard of Assassin’s Creed – esque issues happening to their games on launch day. When they hold the game back, there is a valid reason for it. I guess I will get to wait longer before I upgrade my console.
