The first weekend in May is going to be huge. Not only is that the first weekend that Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron will be in theaters but it will be the infamous “Free Comic Book Day.” During that day, fans will get their first look at Marvel’s Secret Wars and most importantly, The All-New, All-Different Avengers.
Since the announcement of the series, there have been speculations as to who would make up the time. Marvel released the cover, that will be available for free on Free Comic Book Day, and it shows the line-up of the new Avengers team.
The new team will consist of Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, Sam Wilson as Captain America, Thor (the female one), Nova, someone other than Tony Stark in the Iron Man suit and Miles Morales as Spider-Man.
This confirms that speculation (pretty much a forgone conclusion at this point) that Miles Morales will survive, leaving the Ultimate Universe and make it into the 616 universe. Not only that, but rumors has surfaced that Pepper Potts could be making her return into the Iron Man suit.
It seems that this new Avengers team, which will be written by Mark Waid, will have the most diverse group of characters, instead of the traditional white male team. Not only that, a good portion of the team is underage and we are talking about Miles, Nova and Ms. Marvel. I guess we will have to see how fans react when the issue drops on May 2nd.
