On a quiet Sunday evening, Universal Pictures released the first trailer for their upcoming Steve Jobs biopic entitled, oddly enough, Steve Jobs. The film that was sitting on the backlot of Sony for a longtime and even had Seth Rogen already attached to it, as well as director Danny Boyle. Shortly after Sony dropped the series, Universal immediately stepped in and picked up the film.
There is not much that we see in the trailer. We hear people talking to Steve about what he is and what he is not. We definitely get a quick definition of what Jobs was perceived to be in the Aaron Sorkin screenplay. Not to mention, we get our first look at Michael Fassbender as Jobs. The make-up and mannerisms (from what we see) seem good.
The film stars Fassbender, Rogen, Kate Winslet and Jeff Daniels. The film is slated for release on October 9th, 2015. That makes it a bit ahead of the upcoming Oscar race but will it gain enough momentum to put anyone of these actors in contention for a statue? We will have to wait and see.
