Chris Pratt had been the loveable dork on Parks and Rec, but it wasn’t until his role as Peter Quill that launched him into the stratosphere. While the guy had two major blockbusters back in 2014 with The Lego Movie and Guardians of the Galaxy, it seems that Marvel has done with Pratt as they have done with their other leading actors – tie him into more movies.
In an interview with GQ, Pratt makes a mention that he is signed for “two more” Guardians of the Galaxy movies and “plus another couple…” Although, James Gunn has said that his movies will not involve Earth or them making the move to Earth.
“I’m tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple…,” Pratt told GQ. They go on to speculate that it “means he is committed to at least two sequels, as well as spin-off projects where his character will appear with other Marvel characters.”
While the entire Guardians gang may not make their way to Earth, but we have not heard an official no from Kevin Fiege or the Russo Brothers that are working on Infinity Wars, we could see them pop in to back up Quill’s home planet against Thanos.
While Gunn has always said that “his” movies will not have anything to do with the Earth MCU, that does not mean that someone else would not use them to come back home. That should get the internet speculating for a long time to come. However, before that happens, we will get to see Guardians of the Galaxy 2 in May 2017.
