The Wicked + The Divine is a recently comic book series created by Kieron Gillen, Jamie McKelvie and Matt Wilson under the Image flag. The book has earned itself three Eisner-nominations including Best New Series and is a hot topic in the comic book world right now. So hot actually that it’s grabbed a deal with Universal TV for a small-screen adaptation.
The Wicked + The Divine follow a group of super humans that call themselves The Pantheon and has already won Best Comic at the 2014 British Comic Awards. Deadline reports the books writers Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick will be producing the television series under their new company Milkfed Criminal Masterminds. Milkfed was recently formed to bring indie comic IP’s to TV staring with an adaptation of Sex Criminals, another of Fraction’s works.
We’ll have to see how this new series pans out as yet another in the long line of comics to TV adaptations.
