One thing I hate is upgrades of OS’s. I don’t mean the fact that we have a new OS but when you install the new one on top of the old one it never seems to work right. It’s lazy and never recommended by tech professionals. Microsoft has decided that this should be something we need to question with the new Windows 10 upgrade.
The free upgrade from Windows 7/8.1 to Windows 10 will allow legit users to perform a clean install instead of just a paste over upgrade. Head of the Windows Insider Program at Microsoft Gabriel Aul has tweeted the confirmation as a response to a recent question on Twitter (seen above.)
The only downside here is the wording which leads me to believe we will have to upgrade to Windows 10 before we can do a clean install. This would mean installing the OS twice in a row which would be worth it in the long run but a big addition in time taken. We’ll have to wait for further comments on this issue to get a clean answer but keep in mind that Windows 8 could be installed cleaning when we upgraded as well.
