With the release of the limited edition of the Batman PlayStation 4, which dropped late Monday night, it seemed like the worst time to announce the release of a new 1TB PlayStation 4. Well, it did happen and you could not imagine how upset I was since I purchased mine a bit over a month ago. Unfortunately, for all of us in North America, we do not have to worry about this for a bit.
The European PlayStation Blog announced on Monday that the PlayStation 4 Ultimate Player Edition would be coming to Europe on July 15th. After the announcement of Microsoft’s 1TB Xbox One during last week’s E3 presentation, we all knew that Sony’s version would not be that far behind.
“Offering twice the storage of the existing PS4,” the post reads, “you’ll be able to download more of the games you love to your PS4, extend your play with more great add-on content and save and share even more of your best gaming highlights.”
As far as price goes, Sony claims you need to check your local retailers for information. As of press time, Sony claims they have no plan to make an announcement at this time. Given that Microsoft just made their announcement last week, it would seem a bit close for them to do it now. I have a feeling we should hear something toward the end of summer. Are you going to hold out for that PS4 or get the standard one? Does the 1TB make a difference for you? Let us know.
