Much like their comic book lines, Warner Bros is going to do the same thing with their various comic properties. We all know that there is a main DC Comics universe and their darker version Vertigo. It was reported on Monday that Warner Bros will be moving Sandman from Warner Bros. to their sister studio, New Line.
Before you throw up your hands in disgust and start pounding the keys on your favorite forum, Shazam is at New Line as well. Whether that is good or bad remains to be seen. However, it seems that Justice League Dark will remain at Warner Bros which does make more sense. As for who will bring it to us remains a mystery.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, director Guillermo del Toro is “no longer attached” to the project as he is working on the Pacific Rim sequel and prepping Crimson Peak. He did mention a while back, as no announcement has been made about the movie, his schedule is getting full and he may be with the movie.
We all know that del Toro is a huge fan of the comic and wrote the script for the film. That was at the end of 2014, since then we have not heard anything. Is it a coincidence that this report comes out nearly a week before Comic Con, which Warner Bros. is going to have a large presence? I guess we will have to wait and see.
