Back when the future of Constantine was still unknown, Stephen Amell said that he would love for the show to come over to the CW and he would cross over into that show. Unfortunately for everyone involved, that never came to pass. NBC officially cancelled the show and no other network decided to pick it up. However, it seems all is not lost.
During Comic-Con last weekend, IGN managed to sit down with Stephen Amell and Arrow producer Wendy Mericle for a small interview. Quickly, focus shifted to the manager of the demonic, especially since Arrow will be bring magic into their world in season four. They were asked if Constantine could appear in the upcoming season of the series. The short answer is “possibly”.
“Yeah, we really want to do it,” confirmed Mericle. “It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen.”
“Fingers crossed,” Amell said. “[We’re] really optimistic and we would love to have him,” Mercile said, interrupting.
So, obviously, this would be a great idea and the fact they mentioned the “actor’s schedule” would indicate that they are looking to bring Matt Ryan into the fold. I thought he was completely amazing and perfect for the character and would love to see him get a better chance on a network that is favorable to the comic world. We will keep you update as new information becomes available.
