Chris Farley Makes an Interesting Shrek

It was really a secret that Chris Farley was originally cast as Shrek in the iconic animated series. However after the comedian’s untimely death the role was recast with Mike Myers. While Myers did an excellent job it would have been interesting to see the film done with Farley at the helm.

Farley did record a few scenes for the film before his death in 1997 however. In the upcoming documentary I Am Chris Farley, these recordings are shown with storyboard animation. It’s very interesting to see it played out.

Farley didn’t bring an accent to the role and played it as himself for the most part. Of course it makes sense for Myers to bring an accent to the role since that’s what he does very well.

There really isn’t much more to say here other than to watch the video above. It brings back some great memories from a great talent.
