It looks like the CW is going to attempt to bring a horror icon to the small screen very soon. A Friday the 13th television series is in the works with original film director Sean S. Cunningham on board. CW boss Mark Pedowitz has now confirmed the show is in development and The Pretender’s Steve Mitchell and Craig Van Sickle are penning the story.
Deadline reports a more “grounded” telling of Jason Voorhees’ antics will take place with a plot revolving around a detective looking for his lost brother. His search lands him on the mystery of Voorhees “a long thought dead serial killer who has now returned to wreak havoc in the new Crystal Lake.”
We’ll have to wait and see how this all pans out. Friday the 13th is a favorite of most slasher fans however I don’t know how this horror story will fit into CW’s mold. Will there be a Flash crossover? Please say yes.
