Club Nintendo will be closing its doors soon to make way for a new rewards program. It’s almost sad to see it go since it’s been around so long at this point. Club Nintendo would allow users to spend stars they had earned on real world items and for fans in Europe and Australia the last item is a must have if you have the stars.
The Goodbye Coin (above) will run 2,000 stars and features Mario and Luigi waving goodbye with “thank you” written in Japanese around the top of the coin. It also comes with a drawstring pouch so it doesn’t get scratched up. Even though this is just a simple coin, it has to be one of the coolest collectables I’ve seen from Nintendo.
Just for reference the coin itself is around 40mm in diameter and 3mm think. The pouch is 50mm x 60mm as well. Let’s hope this new membership program is as cool as Club Nintendo was.
