Price drops are never a problem however for those not living in the House of the Rising Sun you may have to keep waiting. Announced at this week’s Tokyo Game Show, the PlayStation 4 will be getting a price drop to ¥34,980 from its original price of ¥39,980. That’s about a $50 USD price drop for those unfamiliar with yen to dollar exchange rates.
This begs the question if other markets will see a price drop as well. Sales in North America and Europe have been going very well for Sony so it may not be likely anytime soon. However, sales in Japan aren’t too bad either so it’s anyone’s guess. I would expect to see a $50 price cut sometime around the holidays however.
As a side note it was also announced that Sony’s VR headset Project Morpheus has been officially renamed PlayStation VR. Just a heads up.
