On October 21st the DeLorean from Back to the Future will be available for purchase for the soccer with cars title Rocket League. Back to the Future geeks will recognize the date as the same date (year included) that Back to the Future II took place in, and that should excite people plenty.
“We were all such huge Back to the Future fans here at Psyonix, that it was one of the few “Holy Grails” we had hoped for besides having a hit game,” says Psyonix’s announcement on the PS Blog. “The fact that we’re getting both of those “best-case scenarios” in the same year is an amazing accomplishment for us, they’re things we’ll never forget!”
“We’ve worked meticulously to recreate its look, feel, and folding jet-wheels just as they appeared in the original motion picture trilogy,” the post continues. “Best of all, it’s a heck of a lot of fun to play with — and comes complete with its signature “Burnt Rubber” Rocket Trail to boot!”
This is an awesome addition to an already awesome game. The DeLorean will run you $1.99 which shouldn’t be too much of a burden to 80’s movie lovers everywhere.
