Goosebumps Takes Top Box Office Spot Over the Weekend

90’s kids everywhere know that a good Goosebumps book is a must have. One could only wonder which of these iconic stories would translate better into a film back in the day. It would seem all of them, in one movie.

Goosebumps did well over it’s opening weekend pulling in $23.5 million. The former king of the mountain The Martian was knocked down to second place earning $21.5 million. Bridge of Spies, starring Tom Hanks, also released over last weekend earning $15.4 million.

Director Guillermo del Toro’s Crimson Peak came out over the weekend as well but with more of a fizzle then a bang. The film earned $12.8 million marking the film Toro’s lowest opening for a major studio to date.
