Nintendo has finally made the jump to mobile and the details are rolling in and Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima is very confident it will do well. In an interview with Nikkei (via Kotaku) Kimishima says he expects “the biggest profits ever” within three years adding “I don’t think the Wii and the DS’s sales period is our ceiling.”
He was pretty quiet about the upcoming NX which is to be expected. However he did say it “offers a totally new experience.” Much like every other Nintendo console.
Kimishima talked about his plans to translate the Miitomo app into different languages in order to help grow registered users.
“If we localize it into eight languages,” he said, “we can expand it to over 100 countries. I want to do it as soon as possible. This is because our goal is to increase the number of My Nintendo members. It would be good if we reached one hundred or two hundred million members.”
We’ll have to see how it goes where mobile is concerned. It would be nice to see a true game on the mobile platform like a Pokemon or a Mario title, however I don’t see that happening anytime soon. For now we’ll just have to play with our Mii’s.
