Video Streaming; it’s a common thing for people to do these days. The only problem is doing it on the go with rising costs and smaller data pools being the norm. T-Mobile has decided to start a service to help with that problem.
At the cell phone carrier’s recent Uncarrier event in Los Angeles the Binge On Service was announced. Similar to there already existing Music Freedom service, Binge On will allow users to stream video from services like HBO, Netflix and more without tapping into their data pool. The feature will allow “DVD quality” streaming for free (which means 480p) when using LTE however this restriction won’t happen when on WiFi.
Those that already subscribe to T-Mobile’s Simple Choice plan will see Binge On happen on November 15th for no additional cost. This news comes after Simple Choice subscribers just got their data doubled.
As of now there are 24 services available at launch that will use Binge On: Crackle, Encore, ESPN, Fox Sports, Fox Sports Go, HBO Go, Hulu, MLB, Movieplex, NBC Sports, Netflix, Sling TV, Sling Box, SHOWTIME, STARZ, T-Mobile TV, Univision Deportes, Ustream, Vessel, Vevo, VUDU, Verizon’s Go90 and AT&T DirecTV. More to come.
