If you’ve listened to our podcast (see link on top of page) then you’ll know we here at the Lazy Geeks saw this coming. While Sony has been enjoying the top spot in console sales for a while now Microsoft has taken the lead for the month of October.

The Xbox One saw 81 percent growth compared to last year’s October. In a recent statement Microsoft bosts about “the strength of the greatest games lineup in Xbox history” and “record Xbox Live” usage for that month. Of course who can ignore the drawing power of Halo 5: Guardians, a game series that will cause hardcore fans to get off the fence and pick up the latest Xbox.

Speaking of Halo, Halo 5: Guardians topped the sales chart for games beating out NBA 2K16 for October. Keep in mind that NBA 2K16 is a multiplatform game while Halo 5 is only available on the Xbox One. With other highlights such as Rise of the Tomb Raider and the Xbox Elite controllers surprising popularity the Xbox sales are hard to ignore.
