It seems like Marvel is having a bit of an issue keeping a timetable when it comes to Secret Wars. The epic arc was due to end at issue eight in October however creators decided to add a ninth issue to continue to story and give the ending a bit more punch. Diamond Comics Distribution has announced this final issue has been delayed.
Secret Wars #9 (the final issue) was due to release in December however issue 8 will take its place with nine being moved to January 6th, 2016. I know, math sucks.
This wouldn’t be that big of a deal if Secret Wars wasn’t, well, such a big deal. The entire Marvel Universe is set to end with Battleworld taking its place. It’s a huge storyline that effects every bit of the Marvel Universe and people are aching to see what will happen in the end.
Secret Wars completion was supposed to kick off a complete reboot of the Marvel comic book universe with all new books from the major characters. Marvel hasn’t delayed those reboots however that makes this all that more noticeable. These characters are existing in a universe that technically hasn’t been created yet. Kind of existential in a way, but also very annoying for those that value stories being told in order.
