It is hard to believe that it was only a few weeks ago that people were rumoring on the internet, as they do, that the upcoming Iron Fist Netflix series was off the table. Now, jump ahead and it seems that Iron Fist is more on the table than everyone thought. It managed to pick themselves a showrunner.
There was no clear reason as to why reports were coming out that Marvel was planning to shelve that series because Marvel does not announce a movie/television project that they don’t plan on going through with. Scott Buck has been tapped as the showrunner for the series.
Buck was the executive producer on Dexter, as well as the producer on the HBO series Six Feet Under. He will run the fourth and final solo series before the Defenders assemble.
Iron Fist is officially described by Marvel as “Returning to New York City after being missing for years, Daniel Rand fights against the criminal element corrupting New York City with his incredible kung-fu mastery and ability to summon the awesome power of the fiery Iron Fist.”
It will be interesting to see how all these characters’ tie into one another but we know that we will have to wait for a Daredevil season two before we get that Luke Cage solo series, which everyone is good with. This should be very interesting.
