John Barrowman To Star Across All DC CW Series’

If you are a fan of the CW’s Arrow, then you know the name Malcolm Merlyn. The former Doctor Who companion has made quite a character for himself in the past four seasons. As the fourth season was not his, nor the show’s, strongest, it seems that executive producer Greg Berlanti is going to make his character a bigger part of the CW DCverse.

TVLine reported this week that John Barrowman has scored a deal that will not only have him returning to Arrow for the fifth season but he will be going over to The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow as well. According to Collider, they are eluding to that fact that he could end up on Supergirl as well. However, since that series remains in a alternate universe, his interaction would be questionable. Although, we could see a different Malcolm Merlyn. Possibly even a good guy?

You may remember back in May, Wentworth Miller scored a similar deal that was going to have him as a series regular across all the shows as well. It seems that since Berlanti solidified his shows on the CW, he is making more like a comic book universe.

“What it really emulates to us is the comic books themselves, where there really are a cast of characters. In success, we hope to continue with other characters finding their way across all the shows,” Berlanti said about Barrowman’s recent contract.

Given that Supergirl exists in an alternate universe and Legends of Tomorrow travel through time, it would seem that they could use Barrowman playing various versions of himself. Possible seeing him before the death of his wife, fans would get a chance to see him before he turned to the dark life or see him play a good guy helping out Supergirl.
